Getting started

  1. Install Canopy from the Shopify App Store and open it from Apps in your Shopify admin.
  2. Canopy reads your products, stock and recent sales. The first sync can take a few minutes on a large store.
  3. Open Weeks Cover to see how many weeks of stock each SKU has at its recent sales rate. Open How Canopy calculates this under the table for the method behind each figure.
  4. Add any incoming purchase orders (Add incoming purchase order) so reorder quantities subtract stock already on order.

Common questions

Does Canopy change my store? No. Canopy has read-only access and never edits products, stock or orders.

Why do I only see 50 SKUs? The Free plan covers up to 50 SKUs. Growth and Pro cover all of them. You can change plan at any time from the plan page in your Shopify admin.

How do I change or cancel my plan? Pick a plan on Shopify's plan page for Canopy in your Shopify admin. Charges appear on your Shopify bill.

Why are some figures blank or marked LOW confidence? Cash and margin figures need a unit cost (Cost per item) in Shopify. Forecasts are less reliable with under 60 days of sales or very few units sold; Canopy says so on screen rather than guessing.

Why does a new store show n/a? A sales window longer than the history Canopy has read shows n/a. It fills in as orders come in.

What happens to my data if I uninstall? Canopy loses access straight away, and your store's data is deleted when Shopify sends the store redaction request 48 hours later. See the privacy policy (/privacy).
